What's wrong with Loftus' pitch.

It looks all patched and sickly.

Must say it was an eye-sore to see it that dappled. Even the missus quipped about how they could play footie on that.

They are busy planting rye grass for the World Cup.

Which isn't suitable for rugby.

Lots of European rugby teams share grounds with football clubs, and they play on the same grass just fine. Same thing happems in Austraila, rugby union, league, Aussie rules and soccer all share.

when the stormers played in Cape Town stadium, Bladen comment every ten minutes about how it was the best pitch he has ever seen so i dont know where you got that from.

the pitch is dying from a hectic season, atleast it gets 4 weeks to breathe now

all of you got your facts wrong.

There were media statements released a while ago explaining the state of the pitch. They installed a new drainage system during the off season (inbetween the soccer) which led to the current state of the pitch. Because the stadium was used for rugby on weekends and soccer during the week, the pitch didn't have sufficient time to recover.

If you stop by at loftus right now, you will see that they are busy sowing new grass. So, the pitch will be in a good condition when the bulls return in 5 weeks time.
