Please could someone clarify for me the following:

If I was to transfer the domain to another host. When renewal of the domain comes up, who would I pay, Afrihost or the host where I have moved the domain to?

EDIT: mis-read your post. The people listed under billing will recieved the invoice, whether they pay or not is another story altogether ;)
 
If you transfer the domain name to a new host, then you will pay the new web host :)

I think James was trying to say that you transfer the domain name to the new web host but they keep the billing contact address as AfriHost, which would be a very unlikely (and possibly unfortunate) case.
 
Thank you, both of you. I have sent Moshe a PM to clarify the situation.
 
What I did was advise Afrihost that I would be sending an update to the domain and requested that they accept the change (which they did). I changed the billing address and all contact details to my address and updated to the new nameservers. That way I got full control of the domain and the invoice for the domain renewal will be sent directly to me. No worrying about what the new host will do and whether their systems are updated etc.
