Afrihost has gone downhill since releasing uncapped service.

Has anyone else noticed that since they released their uncapped service, The international browsing / online gaming has become ***. I used to be getting a 500-600ms latency. Since they released their uncapped service it gone up to 3000-4000. If it doesnt get sorted out I will have to cancel (not that i want to). And i tested it Webafrica account has the normal latency so its not my line. :(
 
You do know that Afrihost just resell IS bandwidth.. so its not Afrihost that have gone done, but IS instead....
 
With cheap uncapped the ISPs have let in the Trojan horse
 
But their support is slow.

I downloaded the data usage CSV file from their site after signing up for their uncapped service, and notice in the field where your adsl phone number is some other number which has uploaded 1.7Gb on my account. I ask them who's number this is, 2 days later (last night) I get a reply saying oh no that is your originating phone number and this mysterious entry has now dissapeared off my account.

I'm a little weary of them now.
 
Hmmm, maybe I should wait before I sign on the dotted line. This all sounds a bit dodge. I'd rather pay more for a decent connection.
 
I have definitely seen a deterioration in my line speeds. Youtube , skype etc have gone ridiculously slow.
 
Have done a little d/l and played cod6 mw 2 i have not noticed a difference between the capped and "uncapped" accounts. Also remember the cookie jars just been opened people are going to be a little greedy but this will pass, and abusers will hopefully be dealt with accordingly. But it's about time we were given more, we have been too happy with too little for too long!!!
 
I have been on axxess for many years, speeds have been good. Took out a prepaid account with Afrihost 2 days ago and was very impressed, with the exception of last night. Ping on HoN was 500+ to EU servers. Switched back to Axxess and ping was back to 230ish.

Might have been an oops... nice thing about prepaid accounts is the flexibility to change between ISP's. It's also a good way to compare each ISP against each other.
 
Funny I also thought last night was not great and I have recently moved from 384K to 4 Meg and youtube was very slow last night, but flew this morning, so am assuming it was just a bad night which happens from time to time! I am not loosing any sleep over it yet
 
I think we should have a little bit more faith in Afrihost. They have not disappointed us so far, with a few exceptions, but their overall performance and support is great. I suggest we give them 2 more weeks to tweak things up a bit. Remember, they are still testing their network and hence have only released the 4mb uncapped. Im sure by the time they release the other uncapped products, Afrihost is gonna flyyyyyyyyyyy. I canceled my Axxess Uncapped Express Account and moved straight to Afrihost. I didnt even bother with mweb as I am not such a fan of them. I'll stick with Afrihost :)
 
Yip Im currently getting 1/3 of my linespeed on average with the uncapped offering. I can't say Im happy, but it is in testing and they have come back to me saying they are always in touch with IS trying to sort out our problems... As necromancer said, I'll give it some time and take it from there.
 
I also have not noticed anything significant yet ... Will pay attention today and do some tests to see what my Afrihost 20 Gb package is behaving like.
 
Agree since Afrihost uncapped introduced, my 3GB capped service has deteriorated dramatically.... Switched WA to try out... wow full speed.
Moshe and Gian... please note and hope this gets sorted out.
 
So now all us normal capped users are suffering and they havent even released the 384 and 512 packages yet. took me 1 min to get into gmail last night on my 4mb line.
 
Cancelled my Axxess-semi shaped acc,it run's on the same BW as the Afrihost accs afaik and both services my latencies for gaming have become ridiculous. Took a leap and bought a Webafrica Unshaped,both the verizon and saix portions are FLYING in comparison,too bad it costs a ****etload

That happened with a duplicate invoice!, deleted an invoice that charged me a second time without a refund after I complained, I got free bandwidth only by complaining here and Moshe sorting me out in the end. Which is why I'm sticking with my WA 30GB account for as along I can until something that is stable and cheaper comes along.
 
I have 4 accounts with different ISPs. Saix, IS and WA are all giving varying degrees of high pings in quake live since yesterday.
