MWEB - Uncapped Trial account can be PPPOE'ed several times!

I have one of the 512KB Trial accounts - my router is connected to it and I can also create PPPOE connections on all the other workstations around the office..... this means on my 4MB line, all my 7 users can dial up to the ADSL service on their pc's and have their own 512KB tunnel to surf in... so why would anyone buy the 4MB uncapped account when you can get away with the 512KB on a 4MB line?
 
It all adds up to 512k. You will notice that if one gets good speeds, the others suffer. This is because mweb already planned for this.
They were thoughtful enough to allow you to create up to 20 (iirc) pppoe connections as long as they all go through the same router, while carefully preventing abuse.
 
Afaik the account will only allow a max of 512kbps of traffic over it. Those 7 workstations are in effect sharing the 512kbps pipe! That is how it should work in any case.

It's not router dependent, it's LINE dependent. You can have up to 20 connections on the same line.
 
Did a speedtest on 2 workstations at the same time and got a 512 speed on each?!

In my experience multiple routers on one line causes tons of problems, so barring very unusual circumstances its 1 router per line. Hence we are both technically correct.
 
For the love of god, is it too much to ask that people learn the difference between PPP and PPPoE?

Before your chirp no-one on this thread had mentioned PPP without going Over Ethernet...
Now what exactly is your gripe?
