Axxess Uncapped special for March - Just R1.00

Axxess DSL have launched a special offer of R1 for their 384Kbs or 4096Kbs Uncapped Account to the end of March 2010. This will give the account holder just more than one day of Uncapped Internet access for only R1. The account will remain active for the month of April and normal retail rates of R196 for the 384Kbs Uncapped and R496 for the 4096Kbs Uncapped Internet will be billed from April 1st for these accounts. Yes in April the retail rates will be R196 for a 384Kbs and R496 for a 4096 Kbs Uncapped service.

All the user needs to do, is to go to the Axxess DSL website NOW and sign up using a credit card for instant activation.

“Hopefully we will be able to show the Internet community that Axxess DSL has a great Uncapped service, and they will continue using the Uncapped service in the months to come” says Ryan Hendricks, General Manager for Axxess DSL.
 
Great marketing move Axxess, but now please introduce a great capped but unshaped package - say 10 or 20 Gb at R100 or something like that. I will be there in a flash.
 
Now that's awesome timing indeed! Funny too because I was window shopping last night for a nice new uncapped (not sure if anyone really has uncapped yet but I'll bite...again) replacement and Axxess really does look good!
 
This is most genius, released just after all the complaints about Afrihost and all those Afrihost guys jumping ship, WP Axxess!!!
 
I have just tested the account not bad :) was on Axxess Express + and the ping to London seems around the same check it out:



Since it's not time yet for my Express account to "open" as such this is the other account and if it stays like this I think it'll do nicely. Don't count your chickens yet but it looks good so far:)

So to confirm there will be one transaction on the 1st for R197? charging a credit card for a rand will cost more in bank charges.
 
If I sign up for this will I be automatically billed again on 1 April for the full month?

As far as I know yes. But think of the amount you can download tonight and tomorrow for R1.00 :D
 
Yeah I sort of made a bit of a mistake on that one and accidently created 2 account. I have emailed them to cancel the one I just created and dump the one I have right now but I paid R1 for it so I can use it for now :) so far so good Torrent check and a very quick one didn't want to download it just test the speed is around 80KB/s so not to shabby I don't mind waiting around a bit will see how it looks later tonight. Not expecting it to break any speed records compared to my Express + but at 100-200KB/s I'll be happy.

Malema --If axxess can offer this service at only R1, does it mean they have been profiteering all along?
 
Well after some more tests you can deffinately feel the shaping checking to JHB it shoots up to 3.5mbit/s then slowly degrades till it gets to around 1.6mbit/s


Not sure if this is what we can expect it's still to early in the night to be sure since the "open" piriod is around 7pm or so. Will let you know later :)
