Need some advice.
Was on 2mb ADSL, no problems for about 2 years.
All of a sudden, lightning and then my line died for about 2 months with Telkom never coming to fix it.
They eventually came but now will only sync at 1mb and its as stable as a crack addict.
I with the help of someone here got hold of some people at Telkom who sent out their useless techies and wont or cant fix the problem.
There is a mini DSLAM around the corner from me that is 100% stable at 4mb but they wont or cant connect me there.
Now, the guys at Telkom are ignoring me, not replying to mails.
I am sick of paying for something I am not getting, never mind 4mb I am unable to get 1mb stable.

What I want to know, can this be fought in court?
I am prepared to spend the money but I want this resolved now, its nearly 3 months.

The line is damaged from the lightning strike.
Just let it be known on the street corner where the [-]illegal immigrants look for work[/-] locals hang out waiting for something to steal, that there is some nice cable over that-a-away, and no one is looking after it.

Just remember that Telkom classify a 4Mbps line as 'Up to' 4Mbps. Meaning you are paying for anything from 512Kbps to 4Mbps. If you are getting between those speeds then there isn't much you can do.

And don't forget that Telkom are a big company and can afford good lawyers who can easily take you down unless you are willing to pay the price for an excellent lawyer.

Thought it was 1mb up to 4mb

Taking your complaint higher than 'customer care', i.e. to CEO office level (according to the process to follow) seems impossible. You only have an email and fax as point of contact for customer care which means nothing when you need to escalate to the CEO level. You just get ignored, like whats happening to you right now.

Been there done that......I've personally given up on telkom.

But dont worry, one day something better will come along and then telkom will no longer get a lot of people's monies.
