First of all, I started this thread in the sports section instead of the football section, as I think that fans of other sports may have useful thoughts about this topic too.
Now, I know that SA football isn't the best, but the WC gives SA a real platform to move forward from. Just look at what the USA did after their WC in 94. So, I thought it would be nice to have a thread to disscuss what sort of changes you would like to see in SA football.
I would like to see PSL clubs each choosing a home ground, and sticking to it, unless there is a very good reason to change. I would also like the PSL to force teams announce venues at least a week before a game is due to start. Also, better venue management between soccer and rugby.
Another thing that I would like to see done away with, is a 'big team' playing in a city that hosts other PSL teams. For instance Chiefs and Pirates shouldn't be allowed to play in Durban or CT, as they have PSL teams. This helps to protect the 'smaller' teams, in their cities. 'Big teams' should still be allowed to take games to cities without teams.
Taking CAF competition seriosly. At the momet teams don't really seem to care about these game. They are often played in venues that are not the SA team's home ground, and in front of very few spectators.
Merge the 2 NFD streams into 1. It's mad that the second tier of SA football has such a messed up structure.
That's what I have for now, what do others think?
