Around the end of February i applied for a ADSL combo package.
I was told that it take around 2 to 3 weeks which was no issue since i promised my kids that we will have this sorted by the school holidays.
After 2 weeks i called Webafrica and this is where the nightmare begins.
I was told that i would be contacted the next day and guess what nobody calls.
Called again the next week and the same story. this goes on for 5 more times i call in and given the normal story that i will be contacted the next day.

Last week after getting really upset i was put through a manager who guess what promises to follow up and never gets back to me.

Called in again and asked to put through to a senior manager or there email which i was refused.

Recieved a call back from the one of the managers who promised to get things sorted.

School holidays are over, Still no internet can anyone advise how do i cancel and who is a more efficient provider.

Mr Matthew Tagg CEO of webafrica at least list your email so you can be aware of whats happening to your clients if you care.

Best is to apply @ telkom for a line only. Then you can move it to service provider of your choice. If its 384k line I recommend Mweb uncapped or cybersmart 10GB package

As per my response to your complaint on HelloPeter - http://www.hellopeter.com/webafrica-complaint-[396961]:

As per your phone discussion with myself and the ADSL complete department, your line was reflecting as being linked to another ISP according to Telkom but they will not disclose which ISP.

Since you did not request this line through another ISP, this must have been a mistake on Telkom's side and we are doing everything within our power to ensure Telkom rectifies the line ownership issue.

If your line is transferred to any other ISP you will experience the same or more of a delay with transferring your line as this issue lies with Telkom.

That being said, it is unacceptable that you were not contacted with an update of your line status and the promised follow up calls, this will be taken up with the agents involved.

Thank you for your feedback.

Hi

This is the exact answer i recieved about month ago,
Please advise how to cancel this.....

Having changed ISPs recently I can confirm what WaDaniel is saying. Telkom take a real long time to move lines.

But that's no reason why WebAfrica should take a real long time to return calls.

I know it will not really help the OP but I had the same problem with Telkom and I actually spent some time on the phone to Telkom trying to sort things out. I think this is probably a tactic they use to try and not get people to leave Telkom

I'm in exactly the opposite situation. After a month and a half of waiting for our ADSL line (ordered through telkom) they cancelled the order without letting us know that they had done so or for what reason it was done. So I decided to order the line via Web Africa, hopefully with better results this time.
