afrihost: Who ISN'T going to be cancelling?

384 user; 16GB so far this month with no throttling yet apparent. Would like to stay with them but this depends on whether or not they start throttling my line. I would also like to see Gian coming out of the nuclear bunker he and the rest of Afrihost have been hiding in and actually answering the hundreds of angry queries on these forums. Their silence is both deafening and a disgrace...

Got 4 meg and got 30[edit: about 35] odd gig in last 2 evenings...not throttled at all.... agreed that the service definately needs to be sorted out..... i reckon this whole uncapped thing just hit them by surprise.... but they'll come right, i still believe.... lol

I am giving them a week or so before I decide to cancel. Right now the service is terrible, and if by 384 uncapped they actual mean "15gb capped" then well...

Agreed, i understand that throttling on a 384 line isnt awesome.... luckily its not so bad on 4 meg, sucks, but not to bad....
 
I'm staying for now. Had some issues the other day where my account was locked when I switched to uncapped but other than that it's smooth. Not too fussed about torrent shaping and what not - just want to get xbox game demos, watch videos and not have to switch and top up accounts every day.
 
I'll wait it out for another month also. 384k line @ 21gb or so atm. Throttle the hell out of it. I will see how the performance is next month if I save the bulk of my usuage for 2nd part of the month. If the connection sucks before I have even been throttled I will move, otherwise, it still is cheaper atm to get the 15gb @ R197 than @ R29/gb and with 2-1 topups.
 
Staying for now, my speeds are fine [4096 uncapped] , but i'm still far below 30GB.

Also, all this account changing/swopping is becoming too expensive, so i'm staying put for now.
 
Well I have a 100GB capped account with them, and the past few months until end of May they have doubled my bandwidth for free, effectively I pay R14.50 per gig currently. Anyway I will stay with them for now and wait for the storm to settle a bit more over this uncapped confusion.

I assume you mean R9.50 p/GB, since their special i believe is 50GBx2 [100GB] @ R950 and 100GBx2 [200GB] @ R1900 . http://www.afrihost.com/adsl-power-high-bandwidth.php

Yip, you are correct. I just thought they doubled my bandwidth, and when I checked my debit order now, I see it is R1900. That makes it sweeter :-)
