Is Chaos Computers really the fruit n veg city of computers?

I've been to incredible connections and let me tell you something. it isn't incredible. it sucks. it's twice as expensive as the **** you buy at chaos and they only sell laptops. like im going to spend 5000 rand on a crappy lil laptop. no im a man i want hardware, not software...

ive been to this lil amatuer computer shop in fish hoek called creative computers. the only thing creative about them is their bad customer service and they're twice as expensive as incredible connections...

which leads me to assume chaos computers is the best place to buy in western cape and im probably right. don't argue with people
 
You need to check your facts. Case in point - Logitech Illuminated keyboard last December... R1300 at Chaos, R1000 at IC. Got mine at IC marked down to R400. The best place to buy components in the Northern suburbs used to be Lanworld, but sadly they closed down last year.

Each shop has it's day with specials.
You just have to be lucky enough to find that shop on the day.
Also, retail shops are normally alot more expensive than "businesses from home" because they don't have to put such massive markups on their items.
 
I am a big fan of Creative Computers. Maybe you hit them on a bad day? I have shopped there, for about 5 years. I find that their prices are very fair.

I was a regular at Choas around 5 Years ago. Now days online is the way to go. I went there the other day for something, walked in asked a question walked out laughing at the * Sales Guys * Stupidity.
Chaos are everpriced just like everywhere else. Online is the way to go.
 
What an absolute flippin noob.

Why not just come on here and say o geez i just bought this or that from chaos and what awesome service, you sound like you are being paid or work for them which tends to make people ignore the company more than want to visit it in my opinion.

He was actually criticising Chaos not praising it. His post's subject asks a question whether they're really the cheap wholesale retailer of computers and his post says that they only sell laptops and mostly software too. It's hardly a post that is praising them. If I was promoting a shop I'd be more positive about it without overdoing it.

No mate, you need to learn to read! He said Incredible Connection IHO only sells laptops, he was saying that they are more expensive than Chaos.

FYI - Fruit n Veg is a well priced, fresh produce store (ok not all of them are run as well, but generally it's a good place to shop), so that is what he was alluding to in the subject.

I use to work in the low-end PC retail market (Springbok Information Systems) and stores like these (SIS, Chaos, Vefa, CafeJava) cater for a specific market. Great place if your looking non-standard branded hardware and don't mind loseing bragging rights buy not buying Asus, Gigabyte, etc.

But in this market customer service is non-existant when compared to even IC. Try and return a laptop to one of these budget stores!

Personally I buy either from Deon Wired, Computer Mania, Matrix or online stores. And they are not always more expensive - just perceived to be. But hey, end of day its your choice and its great that we do have a selection of retailers to purchase from.

The trouble is that he is overdoing it, put your goggles back on read his post.
 
I've been to, like every competition store in SA and let me tell you a thing. They don't compete. They horrible. Their stuff is too very costly and they only sell small things. Like I'm going to spend money on a crap little small stuff. No im a man! I go peepee standing up!

I went to these small guys and they were even worse - like very many times more costly then the very costly guys! They make me sick! convulsive proof is that [-]we[/-] Digital Addiction, is best. I'm right so don't argue.

Please buy from [-]us[/-] them. [-]We[/-] they really need the business - although its not like they struggling or anything because they uber cheap and good and downright flippin brilliant too - dont argue!
