Hi,

I just installed Windows7 on my desktop PC. The installation was done on the main SATA HDD. I also have an IDE HDD where all my work is on so it just has files on it.

When Windows7 started up for the first time I went to My Computer to see if the other IDE HDD with my work was there. It wasn't.

So I right clicked on My Computer and went to manage devices. I saw the IDE HDD was visible but had a yellow triangle next to it and was under identified devices or unkown. I went into the properties and it said the drivers were not installed. So there was a button that said search for drivers online. I clicked it and it downloaded the drivers and then requested a restart.

When my PC restarted I got a message in the booting stage that said:

Bootmgr missing
Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.

I then put the windows 7 CD back and reformatted my PC again and re-installed Windows7.

So how do I add my IDE HDD as an extra slave HDD?

It worked fine when I had Windows XP installed and the masters and slaves was setup correctly etc.

Whad up!!!

I re-installed windows7 without the IDE HDD plugged in and then shut down my PC. I then plugged in the IDE HDD and turned on my PC and now it picks it up.

Weird...
