The Imagine store in Vodaworld received their iPad this morning. If you are just dying to play on one then head over to the Imagine store in Vodaworld and try theirs out :D

Not yet. International pre-orders are supposed to start on 10 May (not sure if in SA though) and then delivered towards the end of May (also not sure if in SA by then though)...

Just ordered mine online, should hopefully have it in the next day or two. Paid a bit of a premium but what the hell, couldn't hold out!!

(sorry to say but this is an absolutely retarded post.) did you ask them what the price is. or asked about mimisims? At least post those things even if ;you didn't get an answer. Peace out.

Who do you mean is retarded? Yourself or the OP? The OP informed us about the iPad in Midrand. I'm actually tempted to go there to testdrive it, so I appreciate the information. There are other threads disussing price, availability and vendors.

What is a "mimisim"?

I'm guessing it should read "mini-sim"

Micro sim isn't it? The ones we don't use in SA so your ipad won't be able to surf the net except on wi-fi?

No, I did not ask for a price yet because Vodacom (ppl at store level anyways) will only hear about prices a few days before it's launched here officially. And no, I didn't ask about the SIM either because they obviously only got a wifi version (3G one not released yet).
I'm sure it's safe to assume that Vodacom will be producing Micro-SIMs.
I want to see if Vodacom does a deal on them first before I buy one (holding thumbs). Ok ok, it's just a fantasy, but imagine Vodacom offered an unlimited data deal ;)

Not unlike the days when sim cards switched from credit card sized mofos to the ones we use today, there is a normal sim sized card that has the micro-sim set into it for use with older devices - it can be removed by snapping the perforation an popping the micro-sim out..

At least that's my understanding after chatting with an engineer in a related field.
