2010 World cup - no power outage

Heard on the radio that according to Eskom all of the football stadiums will have power during all the matches providing with uninterrupted match viewing. This is great news, BUT, will the suburbs be affected by load shedding again so that Eskom can keep the power going to the stadiums?
 
Dont all these stadiums have insanely huge generators, I`m sure I read it somwhere, its bullsh*t if they gonna implement loadshedding to ensure the soccer stadiums stay powered up, but then again how much power would one stadium actually use?? shouldnt be that much
 
The power use is not limited to the stadiums ... the problem is much more apparent in England during a big game. At half time, millions across the country do two things at half time. They put the kettle on for a cup of tea and they go to the toilet an flush. Literally everyone doing it during a 15 minute period. Kettles use power and the surge in power usage is hard to handle. The flushing drains reservoirs more quickly than usual ... and pumps start up to fill reservoirs agains. All a knock on effect. Whilst the stadium power use is limited, it's what happens around that is more important.

Anyway ... we live in SA. We drink beer and not tea ... and we "pee in the garden" and not the toilet. What else can you do to save energy ... come on, it's earth day!

Power to the stadiums are supplied by a generator and there is also a backup generator. They will remain unaffected by eskom.

Yes, we should be concerned about power in the various suburbs. Already i have noticed an increase in blackouts.
