Whch one should I go for? Price aside.

Samsung XL2370 vs P2770H ?

XL2370 quality is amazing apparently due to the 5000000:1 contrast and LED.

But 2770H is not bad either and much bigger..

Hmm

Haha thanks for the opinions guys!

XL230 just sounds so sexeh hahaha.

Keep em coming plz. Anyone who has actually compares the two together?

The 5 gazillion to 1 contrast ratio I would take with a pinch of salt. They're both TN panels, so should be of similar quality, the XL is just LED backlit. If you want a real quality jump, you have to shell out for an IPS display which is like 8 grand!

So another vote for the 27" here.

I have the XL2370, it's superb.

If you going to be using it for watching anything below 720pand preferably 1080p, then rather go for the 23" because a friend of mine has the 26.5" and lower res stuff looks like crap when it upscales.

Yeah naturally I think it would look worse on a larger screen.

I'm not going to be watching much low res stuff. Mostly 720p and 1080p and 1920x1080 games. So perhaps the 27" would be better.... Hmm I still am drawn to the XL237 for some reason :P

Will go check em out in person

I have a 24" and low res stuff looks horrific.

I would love to see what an led looks like compared, anywhere i can go to see it? I still reckon bigger is better and that 27" looks insane.

Agree with killadoob. 480p stuff looks super on my friend's 23" Samsung, it makes a wonderful TV, if you sit back a little. I also rate the 27" will be super. The only LED-backlit displays I've seen have been on notebooks, and while they're a little brighter (and light up to full power instantly), I don't think they make that much difference.

The LED backlight eliminates the backlight bleed that I experience with 2 other Samsung LCD's I own. Those are terrible.

I always here about this backlight bleed and although i can see it during boot up, i cannot notice backlight bleed when my pc is up and running.

Do you notice it with movies or what talon?

Yeah I also read that...

I'm thinking of going for the XL2370 now.. I think 23" is big enough for me, so might as well have the best quality at 23".. Apparently the XL2370 is much more vibrant color-wise than normal LCD backlight monitors..

Backlight bleed is usually noticeable when dark colour is near the edges of the screen from my experiences

It may be cool to go LED now, but in a year when LED is mainstream, you'll kick yourself for not getting the 27"

I have the 27", compared it to the LED.. No comparison.

Which would you prefer to own: A 32" LCD TV or a 42" Plasma? ;)

P2770H.

LED backlit not a big deal, its OLED we are waiting for.

Used both these monitors and while the 27" is just fun to have (size is really great)
You can't compare the image quality between the two. I use both still today and the XL2370 just has much better colours, looks way more vibrant and watching HD content on it is really a treat. No crushed blacks, precision in colour reproduction and for me its just that much easier on the eyes.
If I had to pick one I'd take the 23". Right now, there's no point in the 27" in particular because its a lower resolution than the T260 it replaces which was 16:10 1920x1200, while the P2770H is 16:9 1920x1080 (same as the XL2370) and oas such offers less real estate.

If you can look at them side by side then decide, the XL2370 gets a thumbs up form me

Personally, I would go for the 27"

I regret buying my 22" when I did, should have saved a bit more and got a 24 - 26"
