Hi All

Got message from Axxess today saying that it's possible to switch from Seacomm to Sat-3 account,

The last message I heard was that Seacomm might be resolved by 10pm tonight,

Question: Is it worth switching regards less ? Good idea or Not ?

Extended Emergency Maintenance on the Seacom cable

Currently international connectivity is severely degraded or not working at all. This is due to a cable break in the international Seacom fibre cable.

As per update from Seacom, Extended Emergency Maintenance on the Seacom cable is still underway with no confirmed repair time, however, estimated time to repair is Friday 30th April.

International DSL connectivity will continue to experience severe degradation - and congestion is expected on the alternate international path which Internet Solutions has secured.

IS engineers and senior management continue in efforts to urgently remedy this situation and to provide an improved through-put of traffic internationally.

Due to this, we are experiencing high call volumes and apologise if you are on hold for too long. Emailing [email protected] will result in a quicker response.

As such, Axxess management have agreed to do the following:

If you have internet access with an account that ends with "@axxess.co.za" you can convert your account to use the SAT3 cable.

You can do this in two ways:

Create a ticket via the control panel with the title "Convert to SAT3" and stating what account you need converted.
Send a mail to [email protected] with Subject "Convert to SAT3" and stating what account you need converted
VERY IMPORTANT
This conversion does require a slight username change from the normal "[email protected]" to "[email protected]" (Note the added ".s").
Your account will be disconnected as soon as the conversion takes place. You will have to change the username on your router just by adding the ".s" to the username.
This account username will go back on the 1st May to the normal "[email protected]" without the added ".s". So you will need to change your username on the router again.

We have also subsidised our SAIX Unshaped accounts, making the price R59 until the end of April, so this is also an option for those who have the @axxess-semi accounts.
