Hi all,
I'm not sure if i'm posting this thread in the right group (I'm new to this myadsl.co.za) but i am looking for help with this controversial samsungD500,
does anyone know the mms settings for it on vodacom????
somebody told me to go to the vodacom customer care and they load the settings for something like 3hours!!!!
The gprs is working fine on this phone and there was some mms settings already on it but those never worked....
It has been a pretty good phone tho,jus this flippin mms

Please help!

If you register on vodacom4me, you'll be able to automatically download all the required settings to your phone. It's done automatically over the air, so you don't need to do anything like typing in settings.

If the specific phone is not on the list, try another similar model. It'll often work.

Whats controversial about it???

dail *111# and follow intructions

Lots
6680, z800, e1000, v980 and the list goes on...

I dont think that you can video call between countrys.. I stand to be corrected

crap, getting gprs and mms to work on vodacom on the d500 is one of the toughest things to do, and i'm no idiot!
been to vodacom 3 times with the phone, bloody idiots never got it right, at the end THEY tell me to phone 0860 samsung!
there are no OTA settings for the phone on the vodacom4me website, and none of the smiliar models work, the manual setttings they provide are for a DIFFERENT PHONE,cause the menu structure they talk about does not mach the one thats in the phone!

bloody useless so far!

Video calling between countries (where roaming is active) is quite possible if you're calling Vodacom to Vodacom, i.e. if you're travelling you can make a video call back home or to any other Vodacom roaming partner country.

D500

The settings for mms and gprs are already on the phone.
Make sure you can make a internet connection first. MMS works over GPRS so if you can make a internet connection and if your settings are correct mms will work. On the d500 check the current proxy on the phone make sure it is the correct APN that your network uses. Vodacom is internet all lower case.

Once you make a gprs connection disconnet that and check your mms settings. Under messages. Your APN profile for mms that you should be using will be mms.vodacom or vodacom.mms.

Hope that helps

Video calling

Provided that the country there has a 3 G network. Currently Vodacom only has 5 agreements. One in UK ( Vodafone) 2 in Hong Kong, 1 in Australia and the other in Maruituis(check spelling)
