Big Boy GP 200 R or Honda CBR 125

I am still deciding, have never ridden before and some people say a 125cc 4 stroke isnt worth it, others say so straight for a 400cc

I am confused

Any bikers here with REAL advice? :)
 
Stick to a known brand. The bigboy might sound nice now, being cheaper than the rest, but trust me, a few years down the line and you will wish you didnt.

So did you end up getting one? Awesome first timer bikes hey :) Really helped me get comfortable before moving onto bigger bikes :)
 
Hi all.

Sorry im also facing this dilemma at the moment. Big boy with more power and cheaper and brand new...

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the big boy GPR 200 R?

Also i see a bike called a Phoenix 200 that seems quite cheap. Are they any good?

An oke at work also figured on paper a Vuka looked better than a Yamaha scooter .... he had endless problems with it. Stay away from BigBoy, Vuka, Conti (unless you're maybe looking for a vacuum cleaner) ...

Get a Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha .... and for that extra bit of reliability, Honda!
 
I know this might be a bit of necromancy, but I'm looking to buy either a second hand Honda CBR125 2006 model, or a New Big Boy GP 125 R ( I'm 16 )

It's just for going to school and back, the trip isn't much over 2 or 3 km's. Just to take me there, and down the road to my friends place.. Can I get some educated information and advice please? Like what's the difference? Is the Big Boy GP 125 R just a copy of the 2007 CBR125 with only 5 gears? Is it worth it for the extra gear? etc. etc. Please help, Thanks :)
 
I have a Big Boy GP200 and it has 4500 km's om it and has not given me trouble yet. It is perfect for city commuting. I think the GP125 will be perfect for you. The 5 speed gearbox means the 6 speed bikes will probbably beat you for speed.
 
Yeah, the Honda FTW...
It's kinda like asking should I get a Nissan, Toyota or Mazda or should I go ahead and get a Chery instead..? Both bikes will get you where you're going, it's just that the CBR has 55 years worth of Honda R&D and experience behind it... The Honda will be more efficient, easier to live with and I'd be ready to bet more fun to ride, and, if you find you love biking, will probably have better resale or trade in values when the time comes to get a bigger bike.
