Thought I would improve my access and bought a Billion 7402 and scrapped my Telkom Router.
Always had slow speed on my 512 line with the Telkom router, around 300 - 340 Kbps.
Telkom techs been out but say nothing is wrong with my line - whats new.
Problem is that my new Billion constantly gives me 50-100 Kbps lower speed than my Telkom router???????????
Any suggestions, settings or so???

Got the same problem with my Billion 7402.
Plus the line sync goes out every 5-10 mins with the Billion.
Got the latest firmware and all settings ok.
Even my Telkom Router is better - dont know what all the fuss is with Billion - bought it because all the ravings about it - i think it sucks.
Tried a friends linksys on my line and that one goes without any problems plus my speed is a bit higher than the Telkom router + less crc errors.
I'll go for a linksys and ill dump the Billion in the dust bin.

Dear Peter/Heson,

We are sorry to hear this and would like to help you sort this out as soon as possible. We have only received a handful of complaints on the 7402 from the hundreds we've sold.

Please send us more details of your problem and specifically your location to [email protected].

Thanks

I hate my new Billion 7402

Upgraded from my WebExcel to the Billion 7402 after all of the reviews went on and on about them. I get the same speeds but loose sync every hour or so. The modem also often freezes.

Initially I got dropped every couple of minutes and the service provider changed the error handling at their end and it is better. In a way the modem is much slower because I have had my speed dropped to 6.2Mb from 8Mb. But still get dropped frequently.

As a serious online gamer I would not recommend the Billion because you will loose connection and get dropped. I have tested my line with a Dlink and the WebExcel and they have no issues.
