Advocate Barbie's application for leave to appeal denied

Eyewitness News was told on Thursday that former Pretoria advocate and convicted sex criminal Cezanne Visser would not be allowed to appeal her conviction and sentence.

Visser turned to the Supreme Court of Appeals in Bloemfontein asking for permission to argue her case after she was sentenced to seven years behind bars.

She was convicted on 11 charges last year including the sexual abuse of several women and girls.

Throughout her trial she argued she did not act out of her own free will but was controlled and manipulated by her former lover Dirk Prinsloo.

Prinsloo is serving time in a Belarus prison after he tried to rob a bank in the former soviet country.
