I'd just like to know what do you think about that match?
Personally I know the Bulgarian team enough that they're nothing special.
Despite the ranking difference I can tell you that Bulgaria were at their peak in 1994 :D
They lost to serbia 6-1, south africa lost 3-1 i think.
Bulgaria were also very inconsistent during their 2010 qualifiers.

As long as the fans pitch up and RSA get a draw or win then I'd be happy.

Even with Berbatov they've lost badly.
Although he isn't playing he wouldn't be the main attraction anyway.

I hope that our guys do well, me need to get some momentum going. The game is at Orlando Stadium, only 2 days after the Bulls game, so I hope that the pitch is up to standard. Also, we do have a Bafana thread in this subforum.

Bulgaria lost 2-1 to Belgium last night. I think we are going to beat them.

It's possible. I think we need some confidence going into the WC. Especially with the group we have.

Personally the current gen players needs to step up themselves, relying on a fat mickyD muncher ain't going get you the anywhere in the WC.

As for R1million bonus to be paid per goal... that is simply put idoitic... if the team can't win what's the point in paying R1 million per goal they score?

yay we scored 2 goals in the whole competition and we came dead last in the group but we still have 2 million, just doesn't make sense

I see it as an incentive. Obviously representing your country at the highest level is not enough anymore. So now they have a financial incentive.

They realise that Bafana tend to play a more defensive (read timid) game and maybe if they know that for every goal they score they will get paid then maybe they will be more adventurous and take more risks.

They really have nothing to lose as they are the hosts. They should really take the game to their opponents.

They should rather offer them money for every game they win.

You can score 6 goals and still lose a football match.

But for you to win a match you have to score goals.

Also there is always a bonus paid for a win...this R1 million is an extra incentive. Apparently they have already finalised the remuneration structure for the tournament but that is yet to be disclosed to the public.

Yea, but it would be cool if there was an incentive for keeping clean sheets too. If you keep a clean sheet there is always a chance that you could win the game.

I think Bulgaria should win.. but i have a feeling they won't. Back in the day bulgaria was quite good with the football but after they didn't pay the soccer players enough money Bulgaria started playing like S#@t. Maybe bafana bafana have a chance tonight. But I am for BULGARIA! Go BULGARIA!

So if they lose 15-5 they still go away with R5mil? It think the incentive structure is a farce... they should get a mil for each goal they score in any match they DO NOT LOSE!

Having watched the Thailand game (and yes, Thailand are by no means good in any way) i must say i was impressed with the overall structure and gameplay that Bafana displayed. They actually look much much better than they did before they went galavanting all over the world on training camps..heres wishing them well for tonight
