I don't have much info on this but from what I've garnered from the Skype.com websites there are going to be four days this month which will be "Free Skype Out Days"

On Free SkypeOut Days you’ll be able to redeem 10 minutes of credit for SkypeOut calls and it won’t cost you a thing.

How do I know when it’s a Free SkypeOut Day?
We wish every day could be a Free SkypeOut Day, but that would make us bankrupt. So our accountant says we can have 4 of them this month.

When one is approaching, we’ll let you know through our website and on Share.Skype.com. We’re planning to have those days every week in July, so keep checking back for details. And when you spot one, spread the word.

How do you claim your SkypeOut credit?
On Free SkypeOut Days you will find a “get a free Skype gift” button on your account page. Click on it before it disappears at the end of the day. Then, ‘hey presto’, you’ll be able to claim your SkypeOut credit. It’s our little gift to you. We hope you like it.
I dont know about restrictions but if I notice its one of these days I'll try to post here.

Hmmm... me thinks this has something to do with Gizmo giving away free minutes.

Good looking marketing stratergy.

Companies only start doing this when there are problems ? Does anyone agree with me on this ?

If by problems you mean feeling the pinch of competition then yes I agree. I think Skype have a large enough user base that they're not likely to go out of business anytime soon but they do need an incentive to get people to try their service over the others. Wish our telecoms market was this competitive :(

http://www.gizmoproject.comCould be - I def wouldnt say that skype are having problems though. I think they're just trying to tempt people into trying the pc to phone instead of pc to pc.

Oddly enough I still havent tried the pc to pc yet.

Too heavily invested in Skype at the moment (SkypeIn (x2) and Out) to be objective as an impartial tester but would be interested in seeing the results for future use.
