There seems to be a neverending supply of debates (arguments?) on which ADSL ISP is the best (packages, service, transparency, etc). And frankly, even if u ignore the predictable comments from supporters of the various ISPs, these threads dont always answer the question.
Why cant plain old consumer power be used to answer that question, by establishing what the subscription base is of each of the various ISPs.
If the ISPs are willing to provide that information, it will certainly answer many debates!
If not, it would raise a whole lot more questions; and maybe a MyADSL Poll can be used instead.

Good idea. What would be even more interesting, is determining what 1st tier provider is being used. At the moment : SAIX, UUNET and IS are the only three providers connected directly to the ADSL ATM access cloud, so all the others (Telkomsa, Axxess, Datapro, Mweb etc) resell these accounts.

I have accounts with IS and SAIX, so if anyone is interested, I can post some performance stats differentiating between the two...
