Did anyone else get that email last night?

It is with up most regret that we have to inform you that due to Match re-allocating their guests we have had to cancel the Hospitality Village program.
Attached letter explaining the situation.

I am very upset, i went through a lot of trouble, and spent money, preparing my unit, and now they just cancel everything.
 
Hah, so you jumped on the I'm going to make a quick buck from SWC2010 bandwagon only to be dropped.

I'm not sure if I should feel sympathetic towards your predicament or not.

well, they were legit, my townhouse was even listed on the fifa website....it's very easy to say now "i knew it was gonna happen"

I bought new stuff for the house ,coffee table, tv unit, night stands (anyone would like to buy one? i had to get 4!!!), arranged alternative accommodation...personally i didn't spend a lot of money
and i can definitely use most of what i bought. but what about everyone else?
they actually suggested to people that are renting to offer double the rent to their landlord for him to allow them to rent the unit.

No, the problem is everybody want's to rip the ass out of the chicken. Hotels, airlines, rental companies etc etc and it makes me sick.

I don't understand what your problem is.
Accommodation is required for the world cup and i am willing to rent my place.

My problem with this whole SWC is the greed & hype it is built on. Did you see how prices got jacked for the SWC? We now also have a lot less people attending than initially anticipated and the prices I suspect is part of the problem (yes, aware of global financial situation). Hotels aren't even fully booked, lots of reserved beds have been scrapped.

I have no idea on what you would charge for you place though.

well, if the unit is rented for the full 38 days, you will get about 30k for 1 bedroom, 59k for 2 bedrooms, and i think almost 80k for 3 bedrooms, so you do the math...
 
by the way, they were still advertising this week that they still need more units.

So those people that went all out won't make anything then. I'm talking about those that furnished an entire house.

True. True. But prices for accommodation and some stuff (with the exception of FIFA licensed chinese made stuff and Match...) are dropping faster than a scalded cat with only just under 2 weeks to go.

Yes, that is correct because they are not selling like these bastards hoped they would. They tried to fsck us over and people did not bend for them. We should all just show them a toffee out of principal.
 
i was one of the really unfortunate ones!! i worked for Classic Hospitality till 4pm yesterday afternoon, we were called into a meeting and informed that the program could no longer continue due to financial viability for all involved including the partners and the suppliers! should match and fifa have kept their word all involved would be very happy at the end of july! but now many people are jobless! and very unhappy!!
on a personal note my heart truly goes out to all the guys that signed up with us! some of them were really counting on the money to get them out of financial trouble!
