Main Role:
• The Graphic Designer integrates branding, design, strategy and client goals into cost effective communication solutions by providing advanced graphic design, new media and/or web design services to their clients
• The job may require coordinating the activities and workload of other team members.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize layout, design, and production of print materials, including: brochures, leaflets, posters, banners, proposals, packaging and event components
• Conceptualize layout, design, and production of electronic materials, including: interface design, powerpoint presentations, multimedia products, DVD authoring, video production.
• Design and create original material using basic elements of graphic design (i.e., color theory, typography, layout, design software) incorporating elements of the client’s brand, when appropriate.
• Maintain open dialogue with customers and understand expectations.
• Communicate the status of projects to customers including total time estimate, time of completion, and outstanding issues.
• Accurately track time to projects on a daily basis.
• Outsource projects/tasks to internal or external service providers as required (e.g., programming, CGI scripting, etc.) Obtain bids. Schedule production.
• Understand & execute the guidelines and policies of the client’s Brand.
• Serve as a consultant to project management on production values, processes and cost
• Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates when required.
• Keep current on new graphic techniques and technologies, recommending changes as appropriate.
Requirements
Technicall Skills & Experience:
• 5 years graphic design, page layout and new media design experience required.Some travel may be required.
• Proficient in a variety of web publishing and graphics software packages.
• Excellent powerpoint skills
Graphics Design Knowledge:
• Solid understanding required in the following areas:
• Creative process
• Technical design requirements (traditional and electronic media)
• Design and print production techniques
• Software and hardware used in design process
• Conceptualize layout, design and production of:
• Communication materials, including: print collateral, package design, tradeshow displays, logo design, brand development and print pre-press production – create original material using basic elements of graphic design (i.e., color theory, typography, layout, design software) incorporating elements of the client’s brand, when appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to the guidelines and policies of the the clients brand
• Electronic materials, including: interface design, site usability and testing, e-commerce websites, multimedia products, DVD authoring, video production
Advanced knowledge of graphics and web software packages, including: Photoshop, InDesign/QuarkXpress, Freehand/CorelDraw/Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash
Media Knowledge:
• Streaming video- Video production (pre and post production)
• DVD authoring
• Identify multiple design solutions when required
• Outsource projects/tasks to internal or external service providers as required (e.g., printing, fabricating, etc.) Obtain bids. Schedule production
Soft Skills/Competencies:
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
• Strong time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Awareness of project management principles
• Ability to articulate creative concepts to team members and customers is necessary.
Ability to work under extreme pressure
• Flexible
