Description
Main role:
• Our client is looking to add an experienced Application Support Manager to their already dynamic team
• The position requires the individual to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the application systems running the daily operations of the location. This will include delivering uninterrupted services to the business, maintenance of the necessary documentation to support these applications, ensuring preparedness for the annual Business Continuity exercise and manage the team responsible for application support.
Key Outputs:
• Co-ordination of the daily “Health check” meetings and actions arising there from
• Daily Call Management reviews with international counterparts
• All relevant documentation as prescribed by the client’s Project Management Standards
• Control of access to administration systems by support staff
• Technical problem resolution
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Technology
o Acceptance of new or changed applications into production via change control process
o Documentation of production processes to support the running of applications in production
o Identifying root cause of production problems, troubleshooting application issues and escalating identified issues for resolution
o Daily call management reviews
o Communication to management of issues in production
o Technology Management of the annual CSIT BCP (Disaster Recovery) exercise
• People
o Manage relationship with the Application Development Team
o Manage relationship with the Technology Infrastructure team
o Manage the required people management responsibilities for the support team
• Procedural
o Software Development Life Cycle and Change Control Process
Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in IT or Computer Science
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• A minimum of three years experience in support of production applications
Technical Proficiency:
• Knowledge of database design and data migration
• Knowledge of package implementations and deployments
• Knowledge of external applications i.e. banking applications, pricing services used within the location
• Business knowledge of Investment Administration Soft Skills:
• Ability to manage a small team
• High level of integrity
• Good communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Pro-active approach
• Takes ownership
• Initiative, flexibility, innovativeness
• Be organised and have the ability to prioritise work effectively
• The ability to set and maintain high work standards to achieve goals
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
