Just got the newsletter from Imaginet, they've dropped prices again, and added a 4gb unshaped account for "gamers".

ADSL Lite, 3gb: R219

ADSL Basic, 4gb: R269

ADSL Power 10, 10gb: R349

ADSL Power 20, 20gb: R449

ADSL Power 30, 30gb: R549

ADSL Unshaped 4gb: R569

ADSL Premium: unshaped, uncapped: R1539 (requires 12 month contract)
Prices include VAT.

Dunno if I can post the whole newsletter here or not...

That 30gb is r30 lower than the axxess one

hmmm, this is very interesting... Is something happening in the background that we as consumers need to know about?

BTW I thought the-ones-we-do-not-speak-of were gonna prohibit ISP's from selling uncapped accounts ?
 
What does this mean as I see it on the Axxess home page. Any idea's?

The black vans are prolly on the way to imaginet as we speak. "you may not offer good affordable service to South Africans. Take your business elsewhere"
 
The only prob with August is bad might come out of it aswell
 
R1500 for uncapped unshaped adsl is NOT good - its insanely overpriced. relative to everything else in this country it might seem good, but really...

Its sad that Telkom has got people thinking a price like that is acceptable in any way

Sure - price reductions are great, but these prices are still crazy. International bandwidth prices really need to be regulated... the total cost of uncapped, unshaped adsl, all inclusive should not be over R500 for 512 and people are getting excited about it costing over R2000 :(

Thats funny, cause that is not a telkom offering, as they clearly stated they only support capped accounts up to a maximum of 30gb.

That is an Internet Solutions adsl account solution. Also that price include the rent of a Cisco router with 5 static ips ect ect. Ofcoarse that price also include maintenance and support if anything goes wrong with the router/account/setup and so on. So it might seem overpriced but if you calculate everything in, its kinda decent, not to mention the unshaped part...
 
Yeah, we can expect 512kbps, uncapped unshaped, ADSL to become available at R500 p/m overnight.
And please dont get excited when slow and small changes are at the order of the day, lets not see this as the beginning of the long road to cheap broadband and get happy about that, I dont like it.

Yeah - that notice kinda pi$$es me off.

I'm not intending to push imaginet but they're selling 30gb at r549 today - who cares about what you're doing in 16 days. Try this on for size AXXESS - email your existing customers with the new prices or risk them moving elsewhere in 15 days.
