Salary: R300 000 – R340 000 per annum CTC
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant discipline from an accredited school or 5 years experience in a complex and heterogeneous IT environment
• Solid understanding and insight across all aspects of IT
• Understanding of the benefits of release management and service delivery through the pragmatic application of best practices such as ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)
• Good understanding of the system development life cycle
• Good overall understanding of most IT systems and infrastructure
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team, fostering collaboration and teamwork
• Experience in interacting with internal customers with demonstrated customer service orientation
• Expert experience with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)
• Understanding of the IT systems will be a distinct advantage
• Act as 2IC to the SRP Release Manager and assume Release Manager’s function and responsibilities in their absence
• Understand SRP scope and impact of changes to SRP items
• Assist in the timely and accurate completion of Release Deliverables and other relevant documentation
• Coordinate with Test Manager to deliver accurate environments for Integration Test, Performance Test and UAT
• Coordinate with ITD Ops the realisation of all operational requirements for the Release as documented in the Operational Acceptance Criteria
• Assist in the overseeing of deployments to all test and production environments for all release projects to ensure repeatability
• Assist in the coordination of Production Release deployments
• In the absence of the Release Manager, run the regular Deployment and Decommissioning meetings
• Together with the Release Manager, review SRP Scope Change Requests to determine any possible impacts to the SRP Programme as a whole
• Together with the Release Manager, review non-SRP projects and initiatives to determine any possible impacts to the SRP Programme as a whole
• Together with the Release Manager, establish awareness of the Release Management processes and procedures within the SRP Programme in order to enhance compliance
• Coordinate the creation of test environments, in conjunction with Environment Management and Test Management, to ensure that all aspects of the SRP will be thoroughly tested
• Coordinate the decommissioning of production applications and infrastructure following the deployment of SRP, this includes the removal or retention of Data
• Coordinate the signing off of all agreed items in a Release by the relevant business owners for implementation
• Assist the Release Manager to ensure that the impact and timing of the Release has been agreed prior to scheduling the implementation
• Perform communication to all involved parties during a deployment
• Compile SRP Release reports as required
• Together with the Release Manager, identify risks and issues associated with SRP and assist with resolution and mitigation actions
