What is the most cost effective way to obtain a Mac?

Im trying to identify the best way to obtain a Mac. The factors to consider must include, each on a scale of 1 - 10:
- cost (60% weighting)
- guarantee/warranty (20% weighting)
- legality (10% weighting)
- support (10% weighting)

A few options are:
1. Purchase one when you happen to be on a oversees trip in the US, and hope to avoid customs on your return
2. Purchase online from one of those "get-it-all" sites in the US and have it shipped down
3. Purchase locally because there will be less hassles, but very expensive
4. There are no "good" options, break open the piggy bank

Why would you wanna buy a mac in the first place and if you are hell bent on having one why avoid customs? Its only 20% of which you can claim 14% back as VAT when you get you company to pay for it. Also at the moment it is cheaper to buy a mac locally as the exchange rate is against you when you want to buy it overseas. You also get free training here in SA and they will migrate all your data over onto the mac for free. You will also not have any hassles when it comes to support. Something that is a problem sometimes locally when you have an out of country machine.

Option 1 never fails me.
 
Try the Core warehouse store, they have Demo, returned, and open box Macs at really good prices. Last time I was there, there were big savings!
 
I am saving all my kashes for a macbook. I am also interested in the best way to get one.Hopefully I will have enough by Christmas
 
Another way is to wait until new Mac's get introduced cos the iStores give a minimum of 10% off there floor demos

Spent the whole day fighting off scammers after putting my iMac on the market over the last few days. wanted a high traffic site so used junkmail! big mistake. but you live and learn. Gonna try (as well as here) Digicore, any other good ones? Was also thinking of Afrikaans sites as am sure not many Nigerians understand Afrikaans. Any recommendations?
