Hiya

I'm looking into getting scratch and dent insurance . Cant remember what they call it but it like R45/month and supposedly covers little dings and scratches . didnt read the fineprint yet , but would you guys recommend it? Who has it and actually used it. Any catches ?

Fine print looks like this...

maximum claim of R2000 or LESS
only selected places can fix it
have to PROVE the dent was not THERE BEFORE
don't repair...they touch up! LOL so it looks ****E
 
how on earth do you prove it wasn't there before .
Sounds about what i expected.
 
As soon as you apply for it, you need to take your car to one of the insurance company's inspection station and they inspect the car under heavy scrutiny and make a notice of every single scratch. I made the mistake of taking our bakkie in while it was a bit dirty and the woman who did the assessment noted down every bit of bird poo (which looks like white scratches on the red paint), and I ended up having to go and wash the bakkie and redo the assessment.

Covers:
- Paintless dent removal Dents not larger than 30mm
- Scratches not longer than 150mm
- Stone chips not largerthan 5mm
- Windscreen cracks not longer than 10mm
- Windscreen chips not larger than 16mm

What's a reasonable price for scratch and dent insurance?

Hey Mongratie, what's the name of the product? I was referred to www.scratchmagic.co.za yesterday after my car was bumped last weekend. I took some pics of the damage but don't know how to attach them here :erm:

I paid a once of fee of R3500 when purchasing my car for Regent insurance.
My max claim is for R3000 and can claim every 3 months for scratches and dents less than 15cm.

Claimed 3 times so far and had my door and bumper resprayed and not just fixed.
