Adept - 30GB offering R410 incl. VAT

Heads up - Adept is requiring a 3 month contract ... and the price inclusive of VAT is R410 for and I quote "ADSL Uncapped 30GB access"
 
Their sales form explicity states "ADSL Uncapped 30GB Access" which seems to be a contradiction in terms ?
 
Here's the explanation I received ...

" It's now a "uncapped" until 30Gb and then same as the 3Gb. "
 
Well someone should inform them that you don't get "Uncapped till 30GB" then you have 30GB. Uncapped means there is NO CAP AT ALL. They should really just call it a 30GB account like all the other ISP's Still it is a very good price, the lowest yet. Gotta love the competition. Will only last till some idiot ISP complains like they did with the 30GB unshaped from Webafrica.

LOL Skint, you were right, they do appear to be another ayce. They play with words to give the uninformed the impression it's an uncapped service.

I guess Adept is another company I'll be staying away from.

"30GB uncapped. For FREE!!! At the low low cost of R410 including VAT. NO CONTRACTS!!! Just a three month agreement."

Jong, if they drop the 3 month contract i dont care how many silly words they use. If its a SAIX connection and it costs R170 less than Axxess then i'm all for it.

Fair enough, but until they do, Adept is still the cheapest :)

Not always the smartest, best or most colourful, but still the cheapest for now.

Oh, and what are they waiting for? Better days? Or for an open telecoms market in SA? (Sorry, i'm a skeptic)
 
Doesn't sound to bad, but check this out! I wanted to go and investigate on their website www.adept.co.za.......it's dead!!!!

How can I possibly go for an ISP if they can't even host their own site properly????

I'll rather stay safe then and stay with Axxess! Had nothing but good service!
 
yea the uncapped part was probably included to get the attention of people who dont really know to much about adsl, "WOA LOOK IM GETTTING UNCAPPED ADSL!". its all about who can trick who first
 
eye_suc they might be the cheapest for now but that doesn't mean they will stay the cheapest. And remember, the cheapest is not always the best. Sometimes it's worth paying a little more and getting better service/support. (Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with Adept - I've never used them. But this uncapped until 30GB rubs me the wrong way.)

King: are you having a problem accessing their site this morning? I've just tried and it works for me.
 
well, the website was not reflecting their latest offerings, i'm sure its down because they are changing their website.

trickery is what this business is all about, their are quite a few tricksters around here. double you bee ess is my favourite. "no, its not our fault that our system doesnt work. its our clients!"
 
Cant remember exactly, but We've had some trouble with adept in Stellenbosch. I would be a little hesitant to go with them until they've proven themselves. Axxess is still the only option for people like me who dont download much, but wanna play it safe with a 5GB cap (R279).
