MWEB Business introduces uncapped ADSL offering

Its the same as the normal IS one right? Pricey
 
sigh - another IS uncapped reseller, but since Mweb is making it available only now, it ends up on itweb as something new.
 
This doesn't surprise me. I've been wondering when Mweb would attempt to offer an uncapped solution. It's not like them to skip an opportunity like this.

What surprised me is that they never offered anything other than telkoms 3,6,9 combo's (until now). Thats why I left mweb in the first place.
 
It's my understanding that the ISP's offering bigger caps have basically found a "loophole" in telkom's billing system and are exploiting it. One only need look at the recent 30 gig unshaped offering that was introduced and then removed. To my best knowlege, MWeb refuse to exploit the loophole. Telkom themselves have never announced bigger caps.
 
Now my question is this, what the isp's are doing is illegal since its more a method of stealing overpriced bandwidth not so?

Isnt this corrupt/illegal in its own way aswell? Im all for bigger caps and what not definitely but wont telkom soon simply take all these isps to court for abusing their system?
 
This is one of the reasons they're implementing a new billing system that will bill per gig. As to why these isp's are allowed to get away with it, I really don't know.
 
But surely if Telkom can force the ISP's to stop offering uncapped accounts, why can't they then stop them from offering the 30GB accounts? If they indeed don't want the ISP's offering these larger accounts.
 
That's the strange part.. Some products are stopped - like the uncapped SAIX accounts, or the 30 gig unshaped, but yet others aren't, plus the prices are just falling like mad. However, these bigger caps are, at this point, not official telkom products, hence SAIX is not offering them. I really doubt that you'd find MWeb, as the biggest and most public ISP in the country, doing something that telkom hasn't put in writing. Telkom's playing a funny game. My only hope is that their new billing system doesn't crash the party.

Lets wait until Telkom scrap it as they did it to all the other uncapped offerers.

I doubt very much that these are saix accounts, in which case telkom don't really have a say.
 
I think discussions like this should be kept of the forum and via pm's ;) Just in case we do hit a spot of finding a method behind the madnes, then telkom reading here(who knows, perhaps its just plain oversight from them?) and screwing the system again.

ps. all these higher capped accounts = SAIX, its as clear as daily, telkomsa.net being ur hostname for starters, not to mention your ip range ;-)
 
I think this offering from MWeb is and will be typical to what I have come to expect from them; over priced and it will, as with all their products (especially dial-up), become a slow performer, as it relates to performance. They do not impress me one bit. In fact, there are a lot of smaller ISP's out there who deliver much bigger bang for your buck, especially as it relates to performance. Don't think they get it, internet connectivity is about performance, and not shiny trinkets. Well for me and everyone I know anyway.
