What Motherboard for i5

Trying to decide what motherboard to get and a bit lost.

I am getting the i5 750 and was looking at the following Asus boards:

P7P55D, P7P55M and the P7P55DLE

Not sure which one to get. Any thoughts?


Edit: Think I am narrowing it down to the D or the LE but cant see what the difference is.

I chose the D, but I guess it boils down to what you need. D is not much more than LE from esquire, so no real reason to go for LE IMO. If you want micro-ATX get the M. Those are the choices.

Yeah there is only about R300 diff between the D and LE.

What about the Deluxe? Is it worth the extra +- R600?

Deluxe not worth it IMO. Difference was between LE and D wat ~R150 when I bought and less than R100 last week...

LE does not have firewire, less powersupply phases, and some other stuff also removed.

Dam that was a good price! Pc international want R1615 for the D.
 
i got the p7p55d, awesome board nice for OC and the extra lights are nice on the board as they check ram cpu and graphics. My friend got the p7p55d -le and had to rma twice cause of faulty ram slots (just his bad luck i think) and it only indicats a ram check.

Cool, seems like the P7P55D is the one to go for. Deluxe doesn't seem worth the extra $$.

Dam I see you have OC your i5 to 4GHZ :eek:
 
Hahaha ya pretty easy actually. They awesome CPU's. Cheaper than the i7 860 which only really has the hyperthreading extra, but if you want 4GHz most guys turn it off cause it causes extra heat, so they basically got a i5 750 LOLz.. If you wanna OC just make sure ya get a nice cooler obviously, Air is good enough for 4GHz assuming you have nice airflow in your case.

Oh and when inserting the ram make sure it's in properly, like give it a good little wiggle and push.. the bottom sometimes gets stuck cause of their new slot design.

Nice will ask for some tips when I get my rig up and running. I have a arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2 and a HAF 932, so I think I got enough cooling.
 
LOL ya u sorted then..

And for the USB 3.0, when i upgrade in the next 2 years sometime then i'll get it.. At the moment sata2 and usb2 are fine, i have nothing that NEEDS usb3. Nice to have but not needed imo so will wait a while till it's basically standard will all mobos.
 
No, neither can run 2 GPUs properly, so no real point unless you want to massively overclock

But... a USB 3.0 PCI card going through a USB 2.0 supporting southbridge will render it down to USB 2.0, yes / no ???
