A blog entry about schools that are now taking Telkom to ICASA since they are not getting their 50% discount on internet charges.

I really think that 50% off is such a kick in the face to schools, we are a developing nation. This service should be free. Now and always.

Good that people are fighting back tho.
 
I know for a fact that both department of Education and Communications were sent an email asking about the status of Schools discounts on 6th July - to date there has been no reply. It would appear that the Department of communications cannot communicate, and education, appears to be a closed book

Talk of an opportunity missed, they could have promised 100% discount for all the good it has done
 
With Telkom's prices even 50% off is still paying too much - schools should get free access, period.

If Government is as concerned as they said they are about education then they should provide free access.
