I see that the 'iStores' offer a Discovery discount of 10% - which is huge on a R18999 laptop.
Of course, my major concern is that the iStores are part of Core - and Core = evil (right?)
According to www.myistore.co.za, you get a 10% discount, even if you're on Blue Vitality.
I think the catch is this:
"Your maximum discountable spend at partner stores is limited to 30% of your total DiscoveryCard spend in that statement period"
so if I buy a 15 inch MacBook Pro, I need to spend R66 000 on my credit card this month to get the full 10% discount.
But still, any discount on such an expensive item would be good.
There also seems to be the 'buy over 6 months and pay no interest' deal - which may mean that I could buy the laptop over 6 months, and still get the Discovery discount...
Anyone got any other suggestions as to where I should buy. I'm willing to spend the money - I really want the laptop - but I would hate to think I paid R2000 more than I should have if I buy from say Digicape.
