SkypeOut Rates

It looks like it's cheaper to use SkypeOut to make a call from Cape Town to Joburg in standard time; am I missing something?

From Skype site (per minute)..
South Africa ZAR 0.539 (ex VAT) ZAR 0.620 (inc VAT)

From Telkoms tarriff calculator..
Standard Time R 7.81 (ex VAT) R 8.91 (inc VAT)

You are not taking the Internet connection into account for Skype. Although with 30GB at around R300, does it still count??

no, that should be R0.8904 a minute plus the minimum charge of R0.89 (all inc. vat) for long distance standard time.
But it's still more than skype.

I dont use Skype for local calls - if you compare the call quality of Skype (local calls) to that of Telkom, then its worth it to pay the extra few cents for Telkom...

BUT...

I would love if Skype's calls to SA could come down, since if it does come down drastically, then it would be a better option. Call quality for international calls are excellent though, and at only 15c pm, its a real bargain.
