I have the Samsung Galaxy Spica and have been struggling to find an update for it in SA, even though I have heard about it being released other places worldwide.

Does anyone have the Galaxy Spica and has updated to Android 2.1? I really want to have the full functionality of the USB as well as the other nifty features which are added (Including the ability to send files via Bluetooth) - If the update is not available officially, is there a way to get it onto the phone unofficially?

Sorry, pressed for time, so can't give a nice beefy reply. For everything smartphone, go to XDA developers forums...go to your phone, and all the info on how to hack, crack, make-up and hairdo your phone should be there...doubt Leaf gives a flying fiddle about updating phones most of the time.

Hi,
Doesn't the PC studio software you get with the phone on a CD show that an update is available for the phone?

"Samsung new pc studio" (http://za.samsungmobile.com/support/softwaremanuals/newPCStudio.do)

Samsung just announced an official update for this, but you'll have to go to a service centre to have it done: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/252102-Samsung-Galaxy-Spica-gets-Android-upgrade.
