Hi everyone,

Now that Telkom is going to reduce their monthly charges for ADSL and with the leased line prices going down too, will that not be a reason for Wisp’s to start bringing their prices down?

From September isn't it going to be much more attractive to go for a 192 ADSL package for R270/month + ISP, then having a 64K connection for R400/month (megaserve offers a 128K connection), which is normally shared to death by 10 or 12 other users. Most Wisp’s resell ADSL account anyways.

Well, I would have thought that Wisp’s would start to loose business if they keep up with their current rates vs. speed.

What do you guys think?

Cheers ..

I agree, wisp's should wake up and not just see price reductions as pocketing more profits. On a flipside, if they dont reduce prices, atleast increase speeds.

Yeah, true.

I spoke to wireless-online today and they said they are going to change their packages. I think they are going to double the speed for the same price. Will have to wait and see. They will have to be aggressive if they want to keep their business running since their competition has higher speeds at lower prices. Uninet will also have to look at their offerings.

Competition is GOOD!
