Vodacom said in a statement that ARPU in South Africa fell to 150 rand per month in the April-June quarter as the company lured more lower-spending pre-paid customers
It said on Tuesday that figure included growth of 11.3 percent in South Africa to 14.3 million customers.
Vodacom had signed up 26,341 customers to its new high-speed, third generation offering by the end of June, compared to 10,853 at the end of March.
