I am looking for a no-name brand customised PC to be built to spec e.g Intel i7, Gigabyte board etc. ( I don't want to assemble it myself)
Can anyone recommend a reputable and/or releatively cheap company ?
I looked at Dial-a-Nerd but they are hopelessly overpriced.
Currently looking at Evetech who are better priced but I don't know their history.

Thx

I am sure this has been posted before so forgive me if it is a repetition.

Have you already bought the components?

Assembly is easy... just need a steady hand.
But anyone (even a friend) with an A+ certificate can help out. The A+ is just so that if something goes wrong (Faulty parts are quite common) then the manufacturer can't blame you for breaking it.

Depending on where you live, PostmanPot (a user on this forum) could help you out. He has done many a machine for many a user.

Thx for the replies.
I am in Johannesburg.
I have not purchased any components yet.
I am hoping to choose the components and have the supplier assemble the unit for me.
Anyone dealt with Evetech before ?

Many online retailers will assemble the component into a full system for you, I've had www.pcint.co.za and www.computersonly.co.za assemble & burn-in computers for me after I've bought the individual components from them. Just ask.

ps. I've also built a couple of them myself - its basically plug & play nowadays why not try & do it yourself? If you hit a snag post here mybb will help.

Define overpriced.. if they guy you gonna use is not selling you the parts so he can't make a mark up expect to pay R500 - R1000 for all the headache's involved with unsettled cable and cards

In my book when quote1 is R2 000 more than quote2 spec for spec before a R1500 assembly fee I call that overpriced.
Especially when you think that quote2 includes assembly and they must obviously be making a profit as well.
Nerds may know computers as their ad says, but they don't know marketing or pricing.

Well quite a few computer sellers will build for free if you buy a PC from them, I think Landmark for example, and some other sellers mentioned in this thread.

Evetech sucks. They are very overpriced IMO and actually have limited options in their "custom" builds.

If you want the very cheapest in Jhb, www.pcint.co.za , they have limited brands available though (still a big enough selection of quality parts, but no Corsair etc brands)
If you want the cheapest place with all the brands offered by Frontosa, Rectron, Esquire, Pinnalce, Foxcomp etc etc, then go for www.rebeltech.co.za

I've used both for myself and friends, and have been very happy.

If you want the BEST service, and am willing to pay around 8% more for your machine, then use www.prophecy.co.za
