Online Travel Startup Looking for Team of Experienced PHP Developers
We are an exciting new start-up company of 4 dynamic young individuals looking for a team of 2-3 developers who currently work together as a team (ideally 2 backend, 1 frontend) to build an e-commerce accommodation booking site comprising of front-end functionality with a booking engine, payment gateway integration, CMS integration, dynamic content and a back-end administrative management system, including business reporting and accommodation provider extranet.
We are a distributed management team with some of us based in the UK and others elsewhere around the world. The development team need to be relatively flexible in working with the remote team members and use good communication skills and their initiative to build this site with us.
The successful team will be supplied with detailed user requirements but will be expected to take a lead role in analyzing requirements and produce corresponding technical requirements. They will also be responsible for authoring specifications, testing and ensuring that all development work meets specifications whilst working closely with the Technical Operations Manager and the Project Technical Consultant who will be on hand to offer direction and assistance.

Successful applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the following
- A strong knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks with Symfony experience desirable although other frameworks such as Zend, CakePHP or CodeIgniter would be acceptable
- Experience with Diem as a web application Content Management Framework would be viewed extremely favourably
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL 5
- Solid grasp of Object Oriented Programming in PHP5
- Comprehensive understanding of design patterns
- Solid experience in coding highly scalable websites with website optimization (front-end & back-end)
- Experience in creating unit testing suites and continuous integration solutions
- Ability to identify and work around short comings in base framework classes
- Solid experience with SVN and/or GIT
- Prior experience with ecommerce or understanding of related principles
- 2-4 years commercial experience
- Self-starters with an eye for detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving
