Broadband Speeds: The winners and losers

Aah, I thought there'd be real speeds here. :p I doubt whether anyone has seen anything close to 21Mb, nevermind 7Mb from Vodacom.
 
Will the last one to leave telkom, please switch the lights off... :p

Wow, 21 Mbps from VC and MTN? But who can afford to make full use of that for more than an hour a month?
 
Often too much emphasis is placed on speed, id be happy with +8mbs and decent latency provided it was uncapped......what the use of 21mbs connections when you have a 2gb cap?

has any one here managed to get real time downloads @ 21mbps because the most i have got was 4mbps my hspda signal is full
 
I've yet to beat 2Mbps on my 3G/HSDPA at home, and at my parent's place you're lucky if your connections stays up on Vodacom!

My dads' still on the 384K I installed years ago, which easily outpaces a "if you're lucky" wireless connection, and my 2Mbps at home can equal or better the speed I get there.

Rather give me a cheap and stable 1Mbps than a blistering fast way to drain my bank balance if the wireless gods play ball.
 
No mention of Telkom 3G ?

I've using it for over a year and it kicks some serious ass (due to current low contention !).
 
Must say I rather prefer a slow wired connections above fast wireless/mobile one
 
Even if the mobile operators' real world speed does not reach their theoretical speeds, at least they are trying to improve their offerings, unlike Telkom who apparently is simply ignoring the advances made in telecoms technology. NeoTel, well there is a non-event if I ever saw one.
