This report came as a surprise as Telkom recently announced that Telkom Mobile will be looking at LTE in future.

So will this be Telkom's "replacement" / excuse for not building more vigorously on their ADSL network?

Where have you seen that? The facts say otherwise. Look at page 38:

Telkom spends massive amounts on its core and access networks. They know that they have to defend and grow their broadband base.

IMO they have become sidetracked by the SWC and we ADSL consumers are suffering. FICK FUFA.

Hopefully they heed our calls and use the additional capacity built for the SWC to alleviate our plight in the broadband and bandwidth battle!
 
To find the quote now will be difficult, but in one of the articles it was mentioned, or eluded to, that wireless is the future. I'm not saying they are not spending money on ADSL, what I am thinking though is they should be spending more on ADSL (or then FTTH in a ideal world) to get the infrastructure jacked up sooner rather than later.

EDIT: Sorry moggie I can't find that quote now, I will keep looking though.I might have seen it elsewhere.
