Performance Tuning
Database Administration
Provide input to the environment and data refresh strategies
SQL Code checking and validation
Deployment of new databases
Disaster Recovery
Operational tasks
Backups and Restores
Running queries
Reports Writing
Database Standards Design and implementation (Database, security)
Monitoring
Capacity Planning and monitoring
Skills
Formal IT qualification
At least 5 years DBA experience
At least 2-3 years experience as an Application DBA
Oracle 10g, 11g
PL/SQL
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 & Reporting Services
Sound technology background and ability to relate to technology problems and strategy
UNIX (SuSE Linux) Experience
Competencies

Analytical
Ability to work under pressure and manage crisis
Ability to identify impact and possible risks
Ability to manage expectations and drive resolution of problems
