Telkom is winning this race hands down, b/c Sentech decided to take a break to dig their own grave...
 
Who in their right mind would want to buy a modem for R2600 and then only be allowed 200MB bandwidth? Who ever thought of the new sentech packages has a serious screw loose
 
You will be amazed, I know I was :)
The number of people with current 128k packages that want to convert to the 200 and 500 cap models is quite shattering.
It would seem there is a very large following of internet users that are quite happy with 200 megs a month.
Wierd but true.
 
Whatever success Sentech has is going to be drastically short-lived, unless they refocus away from this dial-up BS and start working on "last mile links" for people too far from Telkom exchanges to get ADSL.

ADSL looks like it's on course to hit R300 pm (lowest total cost) within a year and you can bet that the advertising budget from everyone involved, from Telkom themselves right the way through to the major ISP's like MWEB will be massive.

Nothing can compete with the low intial outlay and reliability of ADSL.
The only thing hampering its uptake are the number of exchanges and copper limitations, which will quickly be overcome.
 
Can anyone think of one reason to use MyWireless Flexi over 3G/GPRS?
 
Well, it can't be speed, mobility or coverage related. Maybe it's their dream of having 1000's of new people signup under the impression that their service is going to improve or that they're charging market related and internationally competative prices and packages. yea right
