I've noticed during the Soccer World Cup that most African teams are coached from people outside of Africa. While it's definitely not an anomaly for foreign coaches to coach other teams in Europe, at least those foreign coaches come from the same continent.

Sad but true, many African FA's go out and find foriegn coaches for their teams. It coud be that they feel that local coaches are not good enough, which I don't feel is true. Of the African teams at the WC, only Algeria had a local coach.

At least Bafana are getting an SA coach next.

I think the only reason why SAFA didn't use a local coach is - they racist :p

Nope they want us to play like brazil so they hire Brazilians, more stupid than racist. Sure CP won a world cup with brazil but how hard can winning a world cup be when you have a team of mega stars :D.

Gordon Igesund, Gavin Hunt are more than capable coaches

After Cameroon's first lose Tomas and the SS gang tried to blame the "European" influence for their lose.

Perhaps they fear local coaches will be intimidated by big name players who play under world renowned coaches at successful European club sides.

Why are there no African coaches?
Of course there are...they are just hiding out with the competent gov officials. Not to worry though we'll discover their hiding place sooner or later.

Not a big Mosimane fan at all. He'll probably continue the way CP was. And he his favorite players, just like Jomo Sono.
I would like to get Gavin Hunt. Gordon Igesund doesn't like African flavor, he prefers long and high balls, of which we are not Europeans.

Gavin plays the same kick ahead type of football. I like him, but I think that Mosimane is possibly the bett coach, many forget that he put in place the foundation at SSU. To complicate matters though, apperently Hunt has been offered the Zambian coaching job.

the only African Coaches at this years world cup are standing outside, it's called A BUS!!!!!

Where have you seen an African who can think properly of strategy and tactics? Why do you even wonder about such topic?

may be it's for nuetrality...local coaches for the African teams might get killed by some rebels if the teams loose
