Oh, boo hoo Telkom, cry me a river.
When it comes to being treated fairly, what you reap is what you sow.

The report is a result of an investigation that ICASA launched in response to numerous complaints regarding Telkom's ADSL pricing. At the time of the hearings, Telkom said that it was unfair to be the only operator under investigation, when it is not the only operator offering broadband services, but ICASA felt that the nature and volume of the complaints warranted an investigation.

I love that. Telkom moans about being the only operator under investigation when its a Telkom ADSL hearing.
 
Telkom lie, lets all just get used to it.
They lied about the isp's and the cap, even with the isp reps sitting in front of them. They lie about not being able to seperate local and int bandwidth.
Let them lie and make bollox statements all they like, it will do them no good in the end.
They wont take it lying down, but they will take it bending over in the end.

Hmm I see the prep for delaying tactics on Telkom's behalf has started. Also I wonder how much truth is in that statement.

How much more official can you get than the Government Gazette?
Is Telkom saying that it does not recognize the legitimacy of our government?

In reality they are in shock and speechless because they were not only proven to be crooks but the government was informed of it at the same time as they where, leaving them no room to squirm out of it.

Well done ICASA, you got them with their pants down. :)
 
Since when does telkom worry about the constitution, the goverment, or the people of south africa? They were found guilty by the competition comission and are still bucking that. Freeken disgusting.

I HOPE THIS HURTS YOU TELKOM, BIG TIME!!!!
 
that's just astoundingly funny

they have no special entitlement to have it released to them or to be able to comment...no legal grounds for anything...res ipsa loqitur
 
I think they are forgetting that they have been privatised, and are not a gov. department/body anymore. Well, not really.
 
Telkom is acting like a spoilt brat who did not get his way this time around and instead of focusing on the main issues they are trying to divert attention to technicalities.

although at the end of the day it makes no difference, but i do think ICASA should've sent telkom a copy.
its the least they could do seeing as they are potentially going to curb telkom's profit making machine drastically :)
anyway its gonna make for some good reading for the rest of the year

Then they should have sent one to all ADSL users in the country.

Well we have been taking it up the pooper for ages and paying for Sizwe's salary. I agree time for ICASA to shove a giant, rough, stick up Telkom's pooper. I hope it hurts.
 
This is fantastic news... just as Telkom were getting ready to shaft the ADSL community with Local capping.

But what's going to prevent Telkom from just ignoring the findings like they normally do. Hopefully ICASA have grown a pair over the last couple of months.

ICASA were trying to save bandwidth.. they're prolly close to being capped. :p
 
Most monopolies think they are above the law and Telkom's ego is bigger than their profits. They are government-protected and they give the DoC money so what do they have to worry about? Nothing at all.

Monopolies should be beaten to the ground with the stick of effective competition.
 
Telkom complaining about the only ADSL provider being investigated, makes me think of the kid that killed his mom&dad. He pleaded to the court to take into consideration that he is an orphan.
