Telkom: Turning a blind eye

Reuben September, Telkom's embattled chief executive, isn't just under pressure over dismal financial results and a growing slate of legal disputes, he is said to have turned a blind eye to dodgy practices surrounding key security contracts.
 
ouch! ;)... With money being wasted like this, customer numbers dropping and all the other issues... surely Telkom can't be doing too great financially considering all this? ... Would a new CEO save the company? It backfired the last 2 times! What if someone makes a bid to buy out Telkom - Could be a very good thing!

Telkom and September are twits but judging by what's written in the article, September is covered. Telkom is a large company, the gceo has a hectic schedule, this brits should have agreed to a telephonic interview. This guy was fairly dismissed.

It is already privatised.

The issue is that government must sell its 38% shareholding. Then they cannot appoint their 4 (?) Board members and thereby control the company by having the "golden vote" at Board level.

Many people are so spooked by apostrophes that a word like “they’re” seems to them as if it might mean almost anything. In fact, it’s always a contraction of “they are.” If you’ve written “they’re,” ask yourself whether you can substitute “they are.” If not, you’ve made a mistake. “Their” is a possessive pronoun like “her” or “our” “They eat their hotdogs with sauerkraut.”


Everything else is “there.” “There goes the ball, out of the park! See it? Right there! There aren’t very many home runs like that.” “Thier” is a common misspelling, but you can avoid it by remembering that “they” and “their” begin with the same three letters. Another hint: “there” has “here” buried inside it to remind you it refers to place, while “their” has “heir” buried in it to remind you that it has to do with possession.

ok so what is it, their...or they're?
IMO as long as i can understand you, then all is well! Too many languages out there today, whats the point learning English like you belong in a royal palace! typical A+ students freak out over such silly things! worry more about starving kids around the world than what someone spelling is like...... :)

Telkom on a path to destruction? Nothing indicates otherwise. And it means that progress for you and me too is unlikely to ever amount to much :(
