Thats what I've said all along - Telkom is holding this country back. It's like we're being held to ransom.
 
I met an oke the other day who did a feasability study for another country's potential FDI. He recommended against investing in SA, due to the telecoms situation.

Mostly, we don't even hear about thsi kind of stuff.
 
This is yet another reason why Telecoms and Internet have to be cheap. The cheaper the communications, the more the news sources options the more informed our society will be.
 
100Gbps? Has Telkom heard of Gbps? In case they havent - Telkom, it means 1,000 megabits per second. Please shape up, k thx.
 
The biggest circuits Telkom have are 2.5 gig SDH rings but I guess something like that would cost R1.1 million / month
 
This could be the perfect opportunity for the SNO, to build its backbone network, as part of the project. Assuming they are given equal access to the SAT3. Surely they at least can self-provision, and if they let the astronomy boffins design it for them, SNO could end up with the best infrastructure in the world whilst Telkom is squeezing the last few drops out of ISDN and Diginet.
