Vodacom Business Premier ADSL service launched

It will be interesting to see what the performance is like on these accounts compared to standard ADSL accounts – will try to get our hands on an account to test.
 
automatic 3g failover? but at what price? surely not R59/gb?

1. 384kbps @ R 1132 p/m
2. 512kbps @ R 1588 p/m
3. 4096kbps @ R 2842 p/m

Surely in about a months time, we'll have another article with the title "Vodacom Business Premier ADSL Signs up First Client - sucker"
 
i already have a business 512 uncapped wireless internet and this one is by far cheaper from vodacom 512kbps @ R 1588 p/m vs +R2000 512kbps 1:1

dont be obtuse. this is a business product. not some flaky end user product.

Methinks if you're on the 'capped' plan, it will automatically use remaining data.
If then, you use the 'uncapped' plan, you pay one fixed amount whether you use ADSL or 3G? But you purchase a GB for R59. You're subscribing for ADSL not 3G, so you shouldn't be billed 3G prices, that'd be their fault.
 
Mweb Business ADSL 4096kbps is R1999 per month data only, but of course mweb does not have 3G failover. Question is, is 3G failover worth R842 per month?
 
yeah not always there fault. what happens if the telkom line goes down. which happens often in this country. but if can get the same price for 3g failover it would be great

yeah, but surely this is open to abuse. I pull my phone line out the router, and use 3g at a cheap price? i stick the simcard in my cellphone and use the uncapped? how are they going to limit it?
 
So how does this work.
Would one still need a Telkom line I would think?
Does this price include the line rental?

yeah but if you use the sim in your phone they can pick it up as it will be a different device with a different IMEI number on it
 
The article is not clear (or I have not read properly) - does the cost include the ADSL line provision or are Vodacom only providing you with the bandwidth and you still have to use Telkom for the infrastructure?
 
This is actually not a bad deal . If you are in a big buisness and you need connectivity at all costs i would honestly go for this. If some monkey steals the copperwire , you can still be connected . I hope it is still at the same price though. If the people are going to be charge extra or differently because it goes to 3g/hsdpa instead of adsl then it could be a problem . this means that with vodacom you really can be connected 24/7 and free from telkoms worries and problems !

This is not meant for the gimpy home user this is for buisness where emails, uploads/downloads proposals are worth millions, and loss of connectivity means loss of income . Nice job Vodacom good package but some clarity is needed though .
