New Internet Solutions uncapped ADSL: Pricing and other details

So whats the difference between baisic an basic lite?
Is lite simikaur to the uncapped express offered by axxess?
 
Those 4mbps prices suck. dam, those prices mean they now can say "you've been limited in speed due to you breaching FUP. if you are a heavy downloader you need the R2000 adsl". this sucks.
 
they need to spell out what basic lite is. otherwise who cares.

LOL what a joke... I must be living in a different global. But our standards is nothing compare to the world. I have a friend in the USA and I was telling him about the new uncap fair usage policy, he was like WTF, the people in the USA don't even know what cap is.

The ISP's in South Africa keep telling their clients "Our service is world class". stop lying... they don't and thats fine because of infrastructure. But I just don't know why they must lie and give hope the consumer.
 
What the hell? Great service to light/moderate users? Which light user wants uncapped? Things that make you go HUH?
 
The fact that FUP is not specified nor the finer details of the actual packages themselves makes me distrust it. IS have been dribbling details for the last month but no specifics. The main question being, the express accounts were throttled in the day but unlimited @ night ( no shaping or throttling ) and without finer details, all I see is loss of that particular niche.

Soz IS but you're being rather stupid not specifying as it would take at least a months cancellation notice for people to move across to you. By giving no details, people are not going to cancel their current, known accounts for a vague suggestion of uncapped and we're already into the month prior to its launch.

I agree the ISP’s have this mentality that assumes that their users are inept at sassing out the irregularities and fictitious boasting to compare us with international standards in their statements, products and generally anything the punt to us.
Simply put they think we are dumb and will ride us for every last penny we have to make a profit. Broadband for me = 1 x access fee no cap and no fup.
 
fup is always been an issue why sell a "uncapped" producted if you are going to be limited? surely uncapped still means no limit, unless someone changed the dictionary..... i guess i really means they cannot actually support uncapped since they don't have the capacity

To be honest I'm surprised there are still so many peeps on this forum using IS! I had 2 months of HELL with their crappy speeds and have not had a days problem since being with MWeb!!
 
I don't like IS so probably would never use this, but in saying that I like the option of the 1Mb service. I've always thought the jump from 512 to 4Mb was a little big... and costly!
 
The only decent thing in the article is the new 1mb account. The rest is just bs. Mweb here I come.
 
Perhaps they should concentrate of keeping their network online!
 
Uncapped Basic @ R1649 is probably unshaped until they decide to shape you
Uncapped Basic Lite @ R490 is probably shaped, until they decide to shape you even more.

I think the market response to "Uncapped" has forced the term into ALL ISP's packages.
They call their 10GB soft cap bundles "Uncapped" to sell it to clients who just browse, email and maybe youtube a little over their 3GB cap... Those clients now rate they're "Uncapped" for the same price... maybe spend a little more time on youtube and bookface and never approach the 10GB threshold.
That's who the ISP's are targeting!

They have nightmares about the "Bandwidth Hog". This mythical creature that downloads EVERYTHING just because he can! All over P2P... because that's where the devil lives!

However... The ISP's should realise that almost every youtube clip jumps up at you with the message "Watch now in HD".
Bookface now imbeds more video than photos.
PSN updates, Microsoft Updates, Nokia Updates, 5MB per photo with your fancy new affordable SLR... 11MB PowerPoint emails with nothing but photos from the World Cup...

EVERYTHING is becoming bandwidth intensive... EVERYTHING. Soon, you're well behaved clients who never go over 10GB are going to find their favourite series streamed in HD over the interwebs... 2 seasons ahead of what's shown on television... how could you pass that up?
BOOM! 1,5GB per 45minute episode.
Now What?

"I thought we had uncapped?"

The ISPs need to pressurise the higher ups. MOAR! speed, MOAR! Bandwidth, MOAR!
